The Chair of Providing for People in Paisley visited the beautiful Walled Gardens at Barshaw Park on Saturday 18th May to meet the Friends of Barshaw Park who are developing a neglected area to create an orchard, storytelling area, frog pond, and raised bed growing area. The volunteers were delighted to receive a cordless leaf blower vacuum with shredder. As P3 recently supported Paisley Men’s Shed the Chair was thrilled to learn that the group had made benches for the gardens.
The charity is comprised mostly of local people interested in protecting and developing Barshaw Park. Volunteers work to maintain the Walled Peace Garden and the Community Garden which was established following the award of an RHS design and development for the old donkey area.
The Chair, Irene, said Friends of Barshaw Park is always on the lookout for volunteers and committee members who can bring skills, knowledge and a positive outlook on how sometimes the smaller things can have an impact on the wider community”
